How is extruded feed produced?
Various raw materials are mixed and ground to a fine meal which feeds the extrusion installation.
The flour is humidified, injected with steam and kneaded until it becomes viscous.
EXTRUSION ...
The hot dough is mechanically forced through the tiny holes in the die-plate so long strands are formed.
... AND CUTTING
Just after the die rotating knives cut the strands into pellets of the desired dimensions.
The pellets are dried using hot air.
After drying, the granules may optionally be coated with oils and / or other desired fluids. p>
The pellets are cooled by means of ventilation with the aid of ambient air.
Optionally, the grain is crumbled to the desired size so as to provide fish larvae of feed with an adjusted grain size.
Finally, the pellets are stored in silos before being delivered in bulk or bags.
The above steps explain the extrusion process. This schematic representation is, of course, a simplification of the real process.
